The Nortel Meridian Norstar M7310 is the most versatile telephone in the Norstar range. It comes with twelve programmable keys and ten line / Feature keys. The M7310 also has a split screen which shows the time and date when the receiver is down on its cradle. When you pickup the receiver the screen will show commands which becomes active once the buttons are pressed.
The M7310 has twelve keys above the screen are the user’s personal programmable buttons. They can either be programmed as Internal Autodial (which is what they are as default), External Autodial or as Features. You are also able to program an extra function on the same 12 keys by pressing the triangle on the right whilst programming (also known as the SHIFT key). The 12 keys have a clear plastic cover which comes off by pulling from the right or left part of the button. You should also have paper inserts which is market with line separating the top from bottom.

For programming the External, Internal and Features on these M7310 keys please use the following commands


EXTERNAL AUTODIAL: Press Feature * 1 (Then press the key and follow the instructions)
INTERNAL AUTODIAL: Press Feature * 2 (Then press the key and follow the instructions)
FEATURE AUTODIAL: Press Feature * 3 (Then press the key and follow the instructions)

Below the screen you have three keys that aren’t labelled because they become what it says on the second line of the LAD screen.
The ten buttons below are normally programmes with lines. Features such as Speed Dial, Do Not Disturb, Last No & Page. The last buttons on the right are normally the Handsfree / Mute with one or two Intercom Buttons.

Button Inquiry on your M7310 Phone
Confirm that your memory button has the correct snap-on cap by checking its programming

1 Release all calls and open lines with dial tones.

2 Press FEATURE Key followed by * then 0.

3 Read the display

4 Press FEATURE Key when finished.

 

Adjusting display contrast

1 Press Feature * then 7.

2 Press 1 to 9 for the level you want

3 Selecting a ring type and volume on your M7310 Phone

4 Press FEATURE * then 6.

5 Press 1, 2, 3, or 4 to hear the different types of rings.

6 While the telephone is ringing press volume up or down to adjust the volume.

7 Press FEATURE to store the ring

 

Adjusting recevier or telephone speaker volume

1 Press volume up or down when using the reciver or the speaker.

2 To Hold a call on your M7310 Phone

3 Press HOLD

4 Press HOLD again to return to the call on hold. Check the display for confermation or additional information.

 

Making Calls on your M7310 Phone

Norstar system can have different types of line buttons. Match the line buttons on your telephone with the ones below for instructions on how to use them.

1 Internal calls using intercom buttons

2 Pickup the receiver.

3 When right arrow appears beside an extension button, then dial.

4 External calls using numbered line buttons

5 Pickup the reciver

6 When right arrow appears beside a numbered line button, then dial OR Press a numbered line button without right arrow, then dial.

 

Dialing without lifting the handset

1 Press line button without indicator arrow, then dial your call.

2 When answered, pickup the reciver, or press HANDSFREE/MUTE.

3 If the call is not answered, or the line is busy, press RLS.

 

Programming Memory Buttons on your M7310 Telephone

1 External Autodial

2 If you are on a call or an open line with dial tone, press HOLD or RLS.

3 Press FEATURE X then 1.

4 Press the Key you want to program

5 Dial the external number.

6 Press HOLD to store the number

7 Label your new button.

Internal Autodial

1 If you are on a call or an open line with dial tone, press HOLD or RLS.

2 Press FEATURE X then 2.

3 Press the Key you want to program

4 Dial the internal number.

5 Label your new button.

Features

1 If you are on a call or an open line with dial tone, press HOLD or RLS.

2 Press FEATURE X then 3.

3 Press the Key you want to program

Erasing memory buttons

1 If your on a call or an open line with dial tone , press HOLD or RLS>

2 Press FEATURE X then 1.

3 Press HOLD to erase the button.

 

Changing the TIME and DATE on a Modular or Compact Telephone System

1 Place the programming overlay on any M7208, M7310 or M7324

2 Press FEATURE * * A D M I N (2 3 6 4 6), the display reads Password

3 Enter the Admin password, the default is A D M I N (2 3 6 4 6), the display reads 1. Sys speed dial

4 Press NEXT until the display reads 3. Time and date

5 Press SHOW, the display reads Time

6 Press CHANGE, the display reads Hour:

7 Press CHANGE

8 Enter the hour in two-digit format for the 12 or 24 hour clocks

9 Press NEXT the display reads Minutes

10 Press CHANGE Enter the minutes

11 Press NEXT

12 If you have entered an hour less than 12, the display reads AM or PM. If not, skip to step 15.

13 Press CHANGE to toggle between AM and PM

14 Press RLS to exit

15 Changing the TIME and DATE on a Modular or Compact Telephone System
